The late Mrs. Grace Esi Takoa Wiredu-Minta (1951 – 2007) used to mobilised clothing from her family (husband, children and herself) for her extended family in the village when she was alive. She also advised parents not neglect their pregnant teenagers and used to assist in training such girls to make something of their lives. Upon her death her children Anita and Yvonne decided to continue the goodwill but formalise it. The Foundation is named after Mrs Wiredu-Minta: Takao Foundation (TAKFOD) in her memory. It was formerly registered on 1st August 2010.
To transform communities through holistic development interventions and biblical principles to ensure they live life in all its fullness.
A world where people in remote areas of the globe also live life in all its fullness
We value life
We are Christian with respect for other religions

Responsible stewardship
Takoa Foundation (TAKFOD) has engaged and would continue to engage various stakeholders to develop innovative models that are adaptive to rapid change in our social and economic environment which impacts the development and growth of the people and communities. We have collaborated with government institutions, researchers, NGOs, IGOs, and public and private institutions to build a sustainable framework to help people live life to the fullness of it.
TAKFOD continues support to small business owners, especially women in vulnerable rural communities to grow their businesses through low-interest loans that will significantly increase incomes and transforms their lives through their continued trading. This will reduce their poverty levels and grow their communities.
Through our capacity-building programs, micro-financing, and mobilization of used item campaigns, we continuously provide informative sensitization to small-scale business owners especially those in vulnerable communities on best practices involved in creating a sustainable business that generates revenue. This would enable them to provide quality food and shelter for their families as their businesses thrive.
TAKFOD ensures that women benefit equally with men in education, trade, and credit as we constantly provide effective training and capacity-building programmes that are not often available or accessible to women. Through our child sponsorship campaign and Pledge A Pad Campaign (PAPC), we help the young and needy with resources and access to the quality education offered to the opposite gender.
TAKFOD is a Christian nonprofit organization based in the Central Region, in the Asikum-Odobeng-Brakwa district one of the poorest in the country. Our objective is to ensure that after 10 years of operating in the district, parents would have understood the need for educating their wards (especially the girl child) and are prepared to sacrifice to see them through school to the tertiary level.
