This policy explains how Takoa Foundation uses cookies and similar technologies on takoafoundation.org, and how you can control them. Please read it together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files a website stores on your device. Some are needed for the website to work. Others help us understand how it is used.

2. Cookies we use

Essential cookies

These keep the website working and secure, and cannot be switched off.

  • Donations (GiveWP): short-lived cookies whose names begin with wp_give_session or give_ keep track of your donation while you complete it.
  • Site management (WordPress): cookies whose names begin with wordpress_ or wp-settings are set only for staff who log in to manage the website.
  • Caching (LiteSpeed): _lscache_vary makes sure logged-in users see up-to-date pages.

Analytics cookies (only with your consent)

  • Google Analytics: _ga and _ga_* help us count visits and see which pages are used, so we can improve the website. They last up to two years. Google processes this data under its own privacy policy.

Third-party services

  • Paystack sets its own cookies on its checkout page when you donate online.
  • WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and X may set cookies when you click through to them.
  • Google Fonts: our pages load fonts from Google’s servers, which receive your IP address. No cookies are set.

3. Your choices

When you first visit our website, you can accept or reject analytics cookies in the cookie banner. You can change your choice at any time through the cookie settings link in the website footer.

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can stop Google Analytics on all websites with Google’s opt-out browser add-on. If you block essential cookies, parts of the website, such as the donation form, may not work.
