These terms apply to your use of takoafoundation.org (the “website”), run by Takoa Foundation, a nonprofit organisation registered in Ghana. By using the website, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy and Donations and Refund Policy also apply.
1. Using the website
The website gives general information about our work. We try to keep it accurate and current, but programmes, campaigns and events can change. We may update, suspend or withdraw any part of the website without notice.
2. Donations
Donations are voluntary gifts to support our charitable work. We use each donation for the campaign you choose. If that campaign is fully funded or cannot go ahead, we use your gift for a closely related purpose. Online payments are processed by Paystack under its own terms. Our Donations and Refund Policy explains receipts and refunds.
3. Volunteering and programmes
If you apply to volunteer or take part in a programme, you must give accurate information and follow our instructions, safeguarding rules and the law. We may ask for references or other checks, and we may decline, suspend or end participation for reasons of safety, safeguarding, conduct or capacity. Some roles and programmes have their own written agreements, which apply alongside these terms.
You must not speak or make commitments on behalf of Takoa Foundation unless we have authorised you to do so.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use the website for anything unlawful, fraudulent or harmful;
- try to gain unauthorised access to the website or its systems, or disrupt them;
- upload or send malicious code, spam or unlawful content;
- pretend to be someone else, or falsely claim to represent Takoa Foundation;
- collect or misuse information about children, beneficiaries or other users.
5. Our content
The text, logos, photographs, videos and other content on the website belong to Takoa Foundation or are used with permission. You may share links to our pages. You must not copy, change, sell or otherwise reuse our content without our written permission.
Photographs of children and other beneficiaries are published with consent for our own charitable purposes only. You must not copy, edit or reuse them for any purpose.
6. What you send us
When you send us messages, applications, photographs or other material, you confirm that it is accurate, that you have the right to share it, and that it is lawful. We handle it according to our Privacy Policy.
7. Links and third-party services
The website links to and uses services run by others, including Paystack, Google, WhatsApp, Facebook, Instagram and X. Their own terms and policies apply, and we are not responsible for their content, availability or practices.
8. Our responsibility to you
We provide the website “as is” and cannot promise that it will always be available or free of errors. Information on the website is not professional, legal, financial or medical advice.
As far as Ghanaian law allows, Takoa Foundation is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by events outside our reasonable control, by third-party services or by misuse of the website. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for fraud.
9. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana. If you have a concern, please contact us first so we can try to resolve it. Disputes we cannot resolve together will be decided by the courts of Ghana.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and the version on this page applies from that date.
